Exterior Overview
The laptop is fully made of plastic, it has a mat-finish on the flip and houses a big 'V' logo which resembles "VICTUS". HP went with a minimalist approach and looks premium. There is an unusual flex on the flip but is firm enough when typed fast and don't wobble much. Overall there is certainly a bit of compromise on the built. Coming to the rear side we are greeted with a huge air-vent, but mostly it is just a design feature and not actual vents. The actual vents are very small. To know more about the thermal performance refer to PERFORMANCE section. Apart from this the rear also houses rubber padding for lifting the device and also a pair of down-firing speakers on each side which have an average output.

Interior Overview
As the flip is opened it reveals the same finish, touch and feel of materials, just like the exterior the interior is also finished with plastic and don't feel cheap. The device is fitted with a full-sized single-coloured backlit-keyboard. Overall the typing experience is decent enough. The keyboard experience is well complimented with the large and responsive trackpad. It also supports all the necessary windows 10 gestures well. There is a bit of flex around the keyboard but certainly not a deal-breaker. |

The flip houses a 16.1" large 1080p display with very-less bezels around it. There is also a 720p web-camera placed above the screen which gives a decent video output and the microphone is also average.
Being a gaming laptop the weight-distribution is certainly not the best and requires two hand to raise the flip. Overall the build quality is decent enough leaving aside a bit of flex and wobble.

Display & Software
The laptop is fitted with a 16.1" 1080p anti-glare display which have 45% NTSC value. The display supports 250nits of maximum brightness. Being a gaming laptop it should be having a higher refresh rate screen but unfortunately 60Hz is only provided. There is a bit of screen wobble but it don't wobble when typing fast, it is not a major con but you should be knowing.HP "Victus" comes pre-loaded with lifetime Windows 10 Home along with Microsoft Office Home and Student(2019). It also gets Alexa built in along with OMEN Gaming Software which is an added bonus. The speaker is also of B&O(Bang&Olufsen) and gets the software.
As of connectivity is concerned it comes with Wifi-6 & Bluetooth- 5.2 for better connectivity.

Performance

We also did try video-editing on it and the results are super impressive 1080p video-editing is a breeze for it and medium level of 4k editing can also be done. Along with this we also tried normal tasks and no worry in any aspect everything is just very fast. In our gaming test also it performed quite well. One can have prolong gaming sessions on it.
The battery-life is also impressive and can give upto 4-5 hours of Screen on time depending on the usage.
But inspite of good performance it have a major drawback which can be deal-breaker, it have heating issues. Due to very less vents for air-intake it heats up quickly but this heating does not result in drop in performance as it is constantly well-maintained. In our testing the maximun temperature it was touching was almost 100 C which is certainly not that great but there was no performance dip.

Verdict
The Laptop HP "VICTUS" is certainly a budget-friendly gaming option which has decent performance and is consistent. In this blog we are mainly targeting the Ryzen 5 Models and after the testing I would suggest the model with RTX-3050 (16-e0076AX) as it is much better and value for money than the other. The RTX-1650 model is also decent for normal tasks and for light-weight gaming but for better go with the higher variant(16-e0076AX). Irrespective of the models I would suggest to bump up the RAM to 16 GB for better performance.
This laptop is surely a good choice in the range of Rs 70,000-75,000 and you can go with it if build quality can be compromised.
