Physical Overview

Design: The new Motorola  Tab G62 is made up of both plastic and metal. The rear is completely made of metal and also has a dual-tone finish along with the Motorola branding and it feels premium in the hands. The tablet houses the Power and 2-speakers on the Top along with the Volume buttons and Sim & MicroSD slot on the Right side followed by Two speakers and a Type-C port at the Bottom. The Tab G62 houses an 8MP back camera at the rear and an 8MP front camera. It has no fingerprint sensor only face-unlock, it works pretty well in good lighting and also in every orientation. Overall in the design and looks section it clearly takes a solid win.

Weight: The weight ranges from 468 grams (approx.) depending on the variants you choose. The weight is fairly manageable is a day to day usage.

Display & Software

Display: The Motorola Tab G62 come with a 10.61-inch IPS, LCD panel. The Pad X also have a screen resolution of 2000 x 1200 and is a good-quality display. The Tab G62 comes with a just 60Hz refresh rate screen but the overall performance is decent enough that you will certainly miss the higher refresh rates. The peak brightness is not yet known but in our testing, it performed decently. Overall this is a very good display and the colours and the viewing angles are also impressive with the narrow bezels which just adds up in its favour of watching content.

Software: The Motorola tab G62 comes out of the box with Android-12 with close to stock android experience. The tablet comes with a few software features for enhancements of usage.
There are a few apps tweaked for the tablet itself and they also work pretty well and can also use the larger screen real estate. It also has a pen mode and supports Stylus for a better experience.
The UI may get a bit jittery sometimes, and certainly needs optimization, hopefully, it will be solved with upcoming software updates other than that pretty much works smoothly.

Sound, Battery & Camera

Sound: The Motorola Tab G62 comes with a quad speakers setup paired with Dolby Atmos and the quality of sound is impressive. The speakers have adequate loudness and the sound quality is also decent. Overall the speakers are pretty unique in the range.

Camera & microphone: The Tab G62 houses an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The rear camera is decent enough to use normally but certainly lags behind along with it the lack of a flash module is also a major drawback. On the other hand, the 8MP front camera is quite decent and does the job of nothing special. Overall the performance of the cameras is decent enough.
The microphone is also decent and performs pretty well.

Battery: The Motorola Tab G62 is paired with a 7700MAh battery and a 20Watt charger and the battery life and charging are decent. One can get anywhere between 5-7hours of the screen on time depending on the usage and can also increase depending on the usage.

Performance

Gaming Performance: The Motorola tab G62 have been tested with various demanding games and they were pretty decent at the lowest settings and also the speaker output also enhanced the overall experience. If you are a hardcore gamer then it is not for you but for casual light games it is fine.

Overall performance:  The Tablet come with Snapdragon 680 paired with Adreno 610 and the performance is decent enough. You can do casual work and consume media such as Youtube, Netflix, etc. and it will handle everything pretty smoothly. We have also tested the multi-tasking, it can keep 5-6 apps in memory and overall the experience was pretty flawless. Overall performs decently considering the price.

Verdict

The all-new Motorola Tab G62 starts around Rs 15,999 for the Wifi variant and Rs 17,999 for the LTE variant. The tablet packs in a pretty impressive value-for-money experience. It performs decently and mainly targets casual users who want to see movies, browses the web or students for casual usage, attending online classes. The screen, speakers and battery life add up to the overall content consumption experience.
I can recommend this tablet for that type of usage but not at all for more demanding works flows.
